1969 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S Convertible

Found in New York this former drag car was apparently a terror at the drag stripe. 

At the time this 340 car had been upgraded to a built 440 car with fender well headers, 410 Posi, ladder bars and beefed up Torqueflite.

Fortunately, the car came with many of the parts to return it to its glorious 340 days, which is what SMG has completed. This true Formula S car was born an automatic, but SMG has converted it to a 4-speed car.

Found in the car when it arrived was its correct build sheet and fender tag, which is always a nice bonus for a rare and desirable collector car like this. SMG sourced a date code correct 69 340 with X heads and completed a nicely warmed over build for a fantastic driver experience.

Back in the day previous owner installed power windows which we have kept functional in this Cuda. Another feature of the car is the great color combination of bright Red with Black interior and Black Convertible top.

Our plan is to complete the restoration with the paint scheme of an A56 Cuda with correct factory hood scoops and striping.

Estimated completion time is early fall 2026 for this incredible driver.
