1969 Volkswagen Bug
Not quite a Barn Find, but this Little Bug has been under cover since 1987, parked by its original owner.
The title shows that the owner purchased it directly from the VW Dealer, and the odometer is showing 30,000 miles. The owner passed away, and this car was purchased from the Estate, so we can’t verify that it’s the original miles. However, after looking at the interior, dash, carpets, foot pedals, and seat covers, the mileage appears to be authentic.
We also found the original owner’s manual in mint condition—still in the factory pouch.
Since we have owned it, we replaced the carburetor, installed all new 15” tires, and reworked the brakes to make it a very enjoyable driver. The engine runs like a top and shows no oil burn when driving. The transmission and other mechanicals work as they should. All gauges and lights are functional, and even the radio works.
The body has a few imperfections on the driver side rear quarter and the passenger side rear valance behind the bumper. All the chrome is excellent, except for ding on the front bumper. The vehicle was repainted once back in the day. The paint quality is average for an original vehicle like this.
We removed the seat covers for inspection, showing the front buckets and rear bench seat as excellent, although the top of the back seat is torn.
For the person looking for an affordable and fun driver, this vintage Bug needs nothing to enjoy.
Priced at $10,500.
